Our Approach

We have three goals for your child- to become a life long learner, to be a part of a community, and to build meaningful relationships. Our philosophy is inspired by the teachings of the Reggio Emilia Approach and Project Based Learning. We believe that children learn best when exploration is meaningful to them.  With that respect, our curriculum is written by teachers, but designed by children. Students and families at Petite Explorer Preschool can expect:

*Authentic and joyous relationships – Relationships are the key to learning so that each child thrives from individualized interactions and care

*A child-centered program based on ideas from those of Reggio-Emilia – “From the beginning of his/her education, the child should experience the joy of discovery.”

*Regular and thoughtful communication between teachers, administration and families

*Documentation of students work and progress

*Experienced teachers dedicated to their students, crafts and community

*Diversity that reflects the beautiful Bay Area
